DOG BITES

Every year thousands of people are seriously injured and permanently scarred as a result of being bitten by dogs.  Under Michigan law, the owner of a dog is liable for damages to a person who is injured by their dog, in an unprovoked attack, while lawfully on the dog owner’s property or on a public place, like the sidewalk or street.

Many dog owners are insured for dog bite claims if they have Homeowners or Renters Liability Insurance.  If you are a dog owner and do not have this type of coverage, call the insurance company of your choice and request it. 

• You or your child was injured by a dog; or,

• You have any questions about animal bites or attacks.
